The sale averaged $3,234 on 90 lots. With crowd full of people from Pennsylvania, New York, and Maryland. The High Seller was lot 14 sale topper at $20,200. Lot 14 was a Dec. 2016  2814 GTPI Jedi  X Rubicon X Epic from Guided-Path Holsteins (The Ulmers) The Second High Seller was lot 22 at $8000. One hundred eighty five Holsteins paraded through the ring at the 2017 PA Spring Show on March 17, 2017. Despite the fierce Nor’easter storm that rolled through Tuesday giving up to two feet of snow in the northeast of the state and dumping up to a foot of ice in the east and southeast of the state, cattle were moved in. The 2016 All-PA Holstein Association Award Winners ARE…….

The 2016 All-Pennsylvania Awards were presented at the Pennsylvania Holstein Association Awards Program held during the Annual Convention in Scranton, PA. The All-Pennsylvania Awards are given to the top animals in each of twenty classes from the major shows sponsored by the Pennsylvania Holstein Association. Animals shown at the Spring Show, Fall Show and one of six Regional Championship Shows earned points toward All-Pennsylvania honors. Progressive Genetics Herd Awards

  The Pennsylvania Holstein Association recognized 49 Pennsylvania Holstein breeders who received the Progressive Genetics Herd Award for 2016 at the 2017 State Convention in Scranton. The requirements for the Progressive Genetic Herd Award are: Herd owner must be a member of both national and state associations, and enrolled in the Deluxe or Premier TriStar service options and Herd Classification programs Minimum of 20 87% RHA and higher cows in the milking herd with CTPI. PA Holstein Assoc. Pioneer Award-Frank Reist

The Pennsylvania Holstein Pioneer Memorial Award is given posthumously to an individual for their contribution to the Holstein Industry at the local, state and National levels. The 2017 Pioneer Memorial Award goes to Frank Reist, Sr. Frank Reist Sr owned and operated Ferndale Farms, in Lebanon County, which was founded by his Grandfather Frank Fernsler in 1913. The herd was well known locally, statewide and nationally for top quality registered Holsteins which featured Dunloggin bloodlines. PA Holstein Assoc. Progressive Breeder Registry Herd Awards

  Forty-two (42) Pennsylvania Holstein members were honored with the prestigious Progressive Breeder Registry Award at the 2017 Pennsylvania Holstein Convention at the Hilton Scranton Conference Center, Scranton, PA. The requirements for the award include: Herd owner must be a member of both their national and state associations, and enrolled in the Deluxe or Premier TriStar options and Herd Classification programs. Percent B.A.A. for Herd Classification must be in the top 25% of herds classified during the 18-month time period just prior to March 1 of the current calendar year.

The Pennsylvania Holstein Association recognized membership solicitors at their Awards Program held during the Annual Convention at the Hilton Scranton Conference Center, Scranton.
